Get Away over the Holidays

Since my husband and I are both self employed with multiple business's, we find it difficult to get away for any time period. No rest for the weary...but it's the week of Christmas to New Years, that is normally our "least busy time" and thus we plan our escape to the Washington Coast. We have booked our 3 homes at Seashore Dreams, but left one home to us for our rare enjoyment as a family. The dogs, myself and my hardworking husband Rich.
It has been wonderful, to just "be" for a few days. Enjoying our beach friends, enjoying my parents visiting Christmas Day and just doing things we normally don't do...like "blog", read, watch movies, photograph and enjoy the pups.

My only photo venture so far was yesterday with the dogs as we headed South on SR 109 and stopped at Griffiths State Park in Copalis....just a block from the Green Lantern. It had been years since I have visited there and it was a first for the two little ones. The weather was perfect, the air still and colors were beautiful.

Fun at Moclips - North Washington Coast

Some of the photo's taken at Sunset Beach - December 5, 2009 Moclips, Washington

Photography at the Beach with Friends

There's nothing like getting away with a bunch of friends that do business together. We learn a lot, have lots of good food and wine and get a chance to get to know one another.

We enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach and we have some very talented people. Janet being both a photographer and poet went crazy and took over 180 photo's on our 30 minute walk. I took a few and was able to capture some different shots than before. Janets camera is amazing at catching detail though, I think its a Canon - not sure what model. Marie took some great Sunset shots too!

Besides walking the beach, we went 10 miles down Ocean Beach road and visited Maries brothers horse and dog farm. It was wonderful...right near the Humptulips River Road. 10 Very Big Great Danes and 10 Horses - they were kind of a rescue haven for abused dogs and horses. Marie's sister in law is a Veterinarian and was most gracious to show us around.
